Chroma Key - Dead Air For Radios radio
Dead Air for Radios is the first solo album of Kevin Moore, under the name Chroma Key. The album was released four years after Moore left the keyboardist seat of Dream Theater. It has since sold around 10,000 copies.
Even the Waves
The voice of a woman repeating words and numbers in German during this track is from a famous numbers station broadcast on shortwave frequencies.
"S.O.S." was one of the first songs Moore wrote for the album. The spoken sample is of a German man Moore met in Santa Fe who described his experiences of hitch-hiking from LA to Santa Fe.
The speech synthesizer in "Hell Mary" recites a paragraph from the Bayside prophecies by Veronica Lueken. Moore has stated that "Hell Mary" has something to do with the end of the world, I think. And hallucinogenic visions thereof as experienced by a computer.
The plugin used relies heavily on HTML5 for mp3 playback and so far I get acceptable results only when using Google Chrome. I hope licensing issues will be solved for Mozilla Firefox someday.
